WHAT IS AIRSOFT?

The roots of the airsoft goes back to the 80’s East-Asia. It appeared in Hungary around 2003, and the couple dozen enthusiastic have grown into a several thousand player-crowd, who plays airsoft regularly. In this hobby the participants simulate military, law enforcement or war-situations with the help of replicas, that look exactly like the real weapons. The goal is usually to achieve special missions and eliminate the enemy. There are many game-types and stories to make these events variable.

These automatic replicas are usually electric and can be owned over 18 years without license. Their range is about 40–50 meters, but their muzzle energy is much lower than regular air gun’s. They can cause only surface-scratches at maximum, but even these injuries can be prevented with proper protection and with keeping the safety rules.

The most important element of the airsoft is the “honor-based” system. As the 6 mm plastic bullets don’t leave any mark on the clothes, the player has to call the hit, if they he been hit. It can be called by saying “HIT!”, after that he needs to leave the game area.
The honor of the players, the fair-play and the respect toward other participants make it possible that events even with several hundred people can be realistic, exciting and joyful at the same time.
